Say No To Alcohol, Tobacco, and Drugs
When I was a young girl, I made a decision that I would never put alcohol, tobacco or drugs in my body. It has been a decision that I have stuck to diligently. My Sunday school teacher challenged me at a young age to make this decision, and I am forever grateful for the impact it has made in my life. My life has been changed for the better. My children have a great example to follow. The children...

Keeping the Sabbath Day Holy
We are commanded to keep the Sabbath day holy, but The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will never give an all inclusive list of what that means. We are given a bit of direction, such as rest from your labors and don’t go to the store on Sundays. The rest is up to us to work out by personal revelation. We should study it out in our minds and ask whether we are on the right...

Receiving Spiritual Guidance
This week, I was asked to give a lesson in Relief Society, which is the group of women in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints who dedicate their lives to serving with charity. Anyhow, the lesson was on receiving spiritual guidance. I learned so much while I was preparing for the lesson, that I thought it would be a good thing to share here as well. The lesson was taken from a talk...

Mormon Clothing: Temples
What kind of Mormon clothing is worn in the temple? Members of The Church of Jesus Christ wear their best clothing to go to the temples, as they do when they attend church on Sunday. Once inside, they exchange their clothing for white clothing of the temple. This is such a wonderful thing to see everyone dressed in white. It takes away all the differences in class that exist outside the temple....

The Healing Power of The Comforter
My family dynamics have recently changed dramatically. My three sons have gone to live with their father. This was a very difficult time in my life. I had anticipated that it would be very hard to see them leave, but I had no idea what depths of grief I would experience. My heart aches and longs for them, but I know that they want to live there and I don’t want to stand in their way.
When...

Recent Miracles in My Life
This past week, I have had several miraculous events in my life. I’m sure there are some that I’ve missed and not recognized, but there are a couple that have been very obvious and I need to recognize God’s hand in my life.
As an internet business owner, I have a feeling that I’m supposed to keep up an image of prosperity and happiness at all times. It’s not how real...

Strength Through Adversity
This month has been one of the most trying times of my life. Maybe not the most discouraging time, but it’s right up there with the worst. There were days this month that made me so upset and discouraged. I didn’t know how we’d get through.
While I still don’t have any answers about how things will work out, I know that somehow, I’ll get through it all.
Heavenly...

If You Could Break One Mormon Rule, What Would It Be?
“If you could break one Mormon rule, what would it be?” Last night, I heard my son speaking on the phone and he repeated the question as if to say he was shocked that it was ever asked. He thought about it a while and then answered, “I guess Caffeine, cause some of those drinks look really good.” I really didn’t mean to hear him, but it struck me strange that someone...

Women’s Conference: I Just Registered!
Women’s Conference at BYU, or commonly called Women’s Week, has quickly become a tradition among my sisters, my mother, and I. The past few years, I was unable to attend, and I am so excited that I was able to register for this year’s women’s conference. There are so many things I love about this conference, and I’ll show you all the reasons I’m so thrilled to...
