Happy Easter
I’ve been reflecting a lot lately on the Savior’s atonement and resurrection. Easter is such a happy time when spring is in full bloom and the sun is shining more and more. I’m glad that there is such a parallel between the season and the holiday. New life is all around us and there is evidence everywhere of God’s love. It is easy to see the glory of the resurrection being witnessed in nature. I’m sure there was spring time before Christ’s resurrection, but knowing that He was resurrected makes spring time even more meaningful.
I look at new born babies, and even baby animals and see that there is a new beginning after the long winter. Christ’s resurrection promises a new life for each of us after we die. We will be given a body that will never die again. It’s amazing and wonderful! Everyone born on earth will be resurrected after this life is over. It may not be right away, but it will happen. I am sure of it.
But that’s not all Christ did for us. He also atoned for our sins. If we repent, we can be forgiven of all the wrong that we have done. It’s an ongoing process, and we need to continually repent and try to do better. And, eventually, we will become perfect through Christ’s atonement. It’s another amazing truth that I am so grateful for. I know I have a long way to go and there’s no way I could ever make it back to my Heavenly Father without the atonement of Jesus Christ. No one could. There’s no possible way to make it on our own. But, with the help of our Savior, we can make it back. No matter how bleak our future may feel at times, the Savior gave everything to make a way for us to return. We can return. It’s wonderful!
No wonder the earth celebrates this time of year with the beauty of spring!
