Recent Miracles in My Life
This past week, I have had several miraculous events in my life. I’m sure there are some that I’ve missed and not recognized, but there are a couple that have been very obvious and I need to recognize God’s hand in my life.
As an internet business owner, I have a feeling that I’m supposed to keep up an image of prosperity and happiness at all times. It’s not how real life is, though. There are times when we’re ahead and doing well, and there are times when it’s really tough to make it through the month. This month was one of those months.
I had a few dollars that I had set aside for tithing in my purse. Since I didn’t have much money, there were a few times that I was tempted to use that money for other things.
For instance, there was the time that I was going to a neighboring town to run a booth at a community festival over Memorial Day Weekend. I only had enough gas to make it halfway there. My needle was sitting at 1/16th of a tank. It was a Sunday and I didn’t want to work on Sunday, but I was told that the fair was open on Sunday and all vendors had to be there, so I said a prayer that I would do my best to keep the Sabbath Day holy, even though I had to work. In my prayer I asked for help with the gas because I didn’t want to buy gas on Sunday and I didn’t want to spend the money I had set aside for tithing.
After I had said the prayer, I decided to have faith and start driving toward the festival and pass by the gas station. As soon as I passed the gas station, I watched the needle on my gas gauge go from 1/16 to 3/16 on the dial. Heavenly Father somehow filled up my tank with enough gas to get there and back. I didn’t have to fill up the tank on Sunday and I didn’t have to spend my tithing. My next prayer was one of thanks.
Then, the next day, my gas tank was at empty and my children were at their dad’s house visiting for the weekend. It was time for me to pick them up and I had no money in my bank account and no gas in my car. I didn’t know what I was going to do, but I had faith that Heavenly Father could help me, again.
I still had the tithing sitting in my purse, but I decided not to use it on gas. I said a prayer and asked Heavenly Father to help me find a way to fill up my car with gas and have enough to pay for another bill that was going to come out of my account that day. I left the tithing in my purse and drove to the post office. When I checked our mail, there was a check for $258 from a bill that I had overpaid and forgotten about months before. Again, I offered a prayer of thanks. Then, I drove to the bank and the gas station and was able to get the boys. What a blessing to have these miracles in my life! I know Heavenly Father loves me and is watching out for me and my little family.
