We’re Making Wrapping Paper out of Potatoes Tonight
- Potato Will Soon Be A Stamp for Wrapping Paper
- Here it Is
Yep, I know it sounds crazy, but we’re going to make wrapping paper out of potatoes tonight. Every Monday night, we have a family night activity, which sometimes is just hanging out with the family, sometimes watching a good movie, sometimes a lesson about a gospel subject, and tonight, it’s making wrapping paper for Christmas presents. We’re going to use potatoes as stamps. I remember using potatoes as stamps when I was little. It’s a fun project, involving cutting a potato in half, carving a picture on it, and dipping it into paint. Then, you stamp, stamp, stamp and make wrapping paper with a long roll of butcher paper.
What’s the point? Well, we’re having a down economy, so Christmas will need to be more homemade than usual this year. Also, we love to be together as a family. The family who prays and plays together, stays together. We’re following the prophet. He told us to have family home evening once a week to build a strong family and raise our children unto the Lord. This is the fun part of living the gospel. Sure, we could go out to the dollar store and buy some Christmas wrap, but this will leave a memory that will last a lifetime and that is priceless!

What a great post! I’m going to do this next week with my boys. We already have the butcher paper and the potatoes. It’s perfect!
