Jesus Christ is The Way
This morning as I was doing my spiritual reading before starting my day, I read the conference talk given by Elder Lawrence E. Corbridge titled, The Way. He spoke of how Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life, and that He is the only way to happiness and the only way to the Father. Either we follow Him and be happy, or we don’t and choose foolishness and misery.
The people I know that are truly happy are following Jesus Christ. The ones that are not following him are not truly happy. They may think they are happy for a little while, but in the end, they have an emptiness that they cannot fill. They are missing something. They may not even recognize what it is. They may try to fill it with drinking more or buying more. There are many things people use to fill the emptiness, but the only thing that will leave them full is Jesus Christ. He said, “I am the bread of life: he that cometh unto me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst”
The other thing that struck me from this talk is the way Elder Corbridge emphasized that even though the standard is high, we shouldn’t think we can’t reach it. It is not only for a select few to make it. It can be reachable by everyone because Jesus Christ is able and He can make us able, too. His way is not hard. Life is hard. We just have to choose to follow the Lord and be happy, or go alone and be in darkness and despair.
I think the choice is an obvious one. Choose the life, light, and happiness. Choose to follow Jesus Christ.

Hi Amy,
Yes, I truly believe that true happiness is only in those who follow Christ! I never understood that growing up, but now I experience it! Isn’t it so hopeful when we can still have a joy when things are not going so well? The joy is the knowledge that Christ is helping us develop in any situation we encounter!

Jackie,
Thanks for the comment. It’s good to know others feel the same way about Jesus Christ and how much hope He gives us.
